I saw your tiny footprints deep in the sand
I put mine beside yours it's where I'll stand
Whether you run , walk, or try to escape
I'll hold you my child, you I won't forsake

I'll guide your hands through good and bad
And teach you the beauty of true love's hand
I'll tell you those stories that are honest and true
As I stand by your footprints, and eyes of blue

I'll shine as your lighthouse tell stories untold
As I stand by your side watching footprints grow
I know one fine day you'll understand all of this
And why footprints get washed with the ocean's kiss

But don't go far my child growing fast
Just move forward in life and don't ever look back
I'll teach you of footprints you'll one day see to
That the ocean will kiss with its waves of blue

Remember my child that what comes in your life
Are all teachings that you must learn in strife
But look at those footprints and you'll understand
Why my footprints stood by you to hold your hand
